About LouieCorp

An independent newsroom covering public life — politics, governance, Africa, world affairs, society and business — with care for the record and respect for the reader.

LouieCorp is an independent publication devoted to public-interest journalism. We report on the exercise of power, the conduct of institutions, and the decisions that shape communities. The newsroom publishes news, analysis and commentary for readers who want more than a fragment of the day: work that has been reported, edited and argued with professional care.

Our desks cover politics and governance; Africa and world affairs; society and business; and the opinion and analysis that help a story last beyond the news cycle. The aim is not to exhaust a subject in a single sitting, but to give readers a clear account of what happened, why it matters, and what remains in dispute.

Independence here is a method. Reporting is distinguished from opinion. Claims are tested against the public record. Sources are handled with care. When we get something wrong, we correct it. The masthead is not aligned to a party, government or commercial interest, and it does not exist to flatter any of them.

We take seriously the ordinary consequences of public decisions — on law, livelihoods, civic life and the institutions people rely on. LouieCorp is written for readers who still believe that informed argument is a public good, and that a publication earns its place by being accurate, readable and accountable.
